Al Madinah Airport
Madinah Airport, Saudi Arabia
Established through the build-transfer-operate model, Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Airport is the first airport privatization of Saudi Arabia, the first ever public-private enterprise collaboration in the Gulf Region, and the main entry point for visitors to the Ka'aba and those arriving on pilgrimage.
The modular design for the new 150,000m2 terminal building also includes built-in capacity for an initial increase in passenger numbers and allows for expansion without compromising the terminal operation.
Kersten Middle East
Kerstens’ scope of work included the bending of the internal facades of the airport. 369 tubes Ø168.3 x 8.0m have been bent in two different radii. De tubes have been assembled and look like steel palm trees.
